Tea come in many colors and each color represent a very particular type of tea. Most know are green tea, black tea, dark tea, red tea, and white tea. These different colored tea, all come from one plant only name the tea plant. The leaves taken from the tea plants are processed in different ways, and under-gone numerous transformations which determine on the final color.
Enzymes existing in the fresh leaves cause a chemical reaction called fermentation, which is the most important process in making tea. The tea planter initiates and control the process of fermentation. The amounts of leaves and enzymes used in the process determine the desire color and type of tea.
