TACOMA, Wash. (Jan. 16, 2012) – LeMay – America’s Car Museum (ACM) has finalized an agreement making State Farm the institution’s presenting sponsor for 2012. The museum, set to open its 165,000-square foot facility on Saturday, June 2, 2012. ACM's campus is one of the largest auto museums in the world and projects to pump some $34 million into the local economy each year.
The 2012 special projects, including the State Farm Theatre, which features a 360-degree movie screen located in the museum’s Collector Car Center.
Located in downtown Tacoma, Wash., the museum main goal is to show how the automobile has fulfilled a distinctive role at the core of the American experience and shaped our society. The spacious Museum with rotating exhibits is designed to be the centerpiece for automotive history as well as an educational center and library. The campus, located adjacent to the Tacoma Dome, also contains a 3.5-acre show field, theatre, car storage, café, banquet hall and meeting facilities.
